Aftercare Lip Blush
Immediate Aftercare (First 24 Hours)
- Keep the Area Clean: Gently blot your lips with a clean tissue or cotton pad to remove any excess fluid. This helps to prevent scabbing.
- Avoid Touching: Do not touch your lips with unwashed hands to prevent infection.
- Apply Healing Ointment: Use a provided aftercare ointment or a recommended one, like Aquaphor or a specialised tattoo healing balm. Apply it lightly to keep your lips moisturised.
Days 1-3: Start of the Healing Process
- • Gentle Cleansing: Wash your lips with mild, unscented soap and water. Pat them dry gently.
• Moisturise Regularly: Continue applying the healing ointment 2-3 times a day. Do not let your lips dry out.
• Avoid Wetting the Lips Excessively: Keep your lips dry, but if they get wet, gently blot them dry.
Days 4-7: Peeling Phase
- • Expect Peeling: Your lips will start to peel, and the color may appear uneven. This is normal.
- Do Not Pick or Peel: Let the skin shed naturally to avoid scarring or pigment loss.
- Continue: Apply a thin layer of ointment regularly to keep your lips hydrated.
Days 7-14: Healing Continues
- • Avoid Makeup: Do not apply lipstick or other lip products that aren’t specifically for healing until your lips are fully healed.
- Limit Sun Exposure: Protect your lips from the sun as UV rays can affect the pigment. Use a lip balm with SPF once the peeling stops.
- Avoid Hot and Spicy Foods: These can irritate your lips and slow down healing.
Long-Term Aftercare
- Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your lips hydrated from within.
- Use Lip Balm with SPF: Regularly use a lip balm with sun protection to maintain the color and health of your lips.
- Avoid Exfoliating: Do not exfoliate your lips until they are fully healed, and even then, be gentle.
Follow-Up
- Review Session: A follow-up session is often needed 4-8 weeks after the initial procedure to perfect the color and shape.By following these aftercare instructions, you can ensure that your lip blush heals beautifully and the color lasts longer. If you experience any unusual symptoms like excessive swelling, redness, or infection, contact your technician or a healthcare professional.
