Aftercare Microblading

Aftercare is crucial for ensuring that your Microblading results are long-lasting and that your skin heals well. Here’s a detailed aftercare guide to help you through the healing process:

Immediate Aftercare (First 24 Hours)

  • Blot the Area: Gently blot your eyebrows with a clean tissue or cotton pad to remove any lymph fluid. This helps prevent the formation of scabs.
  • Avoid Touching: Do not touch your eyebrows with unwashed hands to avoid introducing bacteria and risking infection.
  • Apply Healing Ointment: Use a thin layer of the provided aftercare ointment or a recommended product like Aquaphor. Do this several times a day to keep the area moist.

Days 1-7: Healing Process Begins

  • Keep the Area Clean: Clean your eyebrows gently with a damp cotton pad in the morning and evening. Avoid using harsh cleansers or scrubbing the area.
  • Avoid Getting Them Wet: Be careful not to get your eyebrows wet when washing your face or showering. If they do get wet, gently blot them dry.
  • Avoid Makeup: Do not apply makeup to your eyebrows until they are fully healed to prevent infection and irritation.
  • No Picking or Scratching: It’s normal for your eyebrows to scab or flake as they heal. Do not pick or scratch at them, as this can cause scarring and pigment loss.
    • Apply Healing Ointment: Continue applying a thin layer of healing ointment 2-3 times a day. This helps keep the skin hydrated and supports healing.

Days 7-14: Peeling and Flaking

  • Expect Peeling: Your eyebrows may start to peel and flake. This is a normal part of the healing process. The color may also appear uneven or lighter during this time, which is normal.
  • Do Not Pick the Scabs: Let the scabs fall off naturally. Picking can lead to scarring or pigment loss.
  • Continue to Moisturise: Keep applying the healing ointment as needed to keep the area moisturized and comfortable.

Weeks 2-4: Final Healing Stages

  • Avoid Sun Exposure: Protect your eyebrows from the sun. UV rays can cause the pigment to fade or change color. If you must be outside, wear a hat or use sunscreen on your brows once they are fully healed.
  • Avoid Harsh Skincare Products: Continue to avoid using exfoliants, retinoids, or other harsh skincare products near your eyebrows until they are fully healed.
  • Avoid Sweating: Try to avoid heavy sweating, as it can affect the healing process and pigment retention.

Long-Term Care

  • Use Sun Protection: Apply sunscreen to your brows daily to protect the pigment from fading due to sun exposure.
  • Moisturise Regularly: Keep your eyebrows moisturised to maintain the health of your skin and the vibrancy of the pigment.
  • Avoid Exfoliation: Be gentle with your eyebrows and avoid exfoliating products near the area.

Follow-Up Appointment

• Review Session: A follow-up review session is typically needed 4-6 weeks after the initial procedure. This allows your technician to check the shape and color and ensure long-lasting results.

If you experience any unusual symptoms such as excessive redness, swelling, or signs of infection (like pus), contact your technician or a healthcare professional immediately. By following these aftercare instructions, you’ll help ensure that your microblading heals properly and that you achieve beautiful, long-lasting results.
